Edumacation in Brewing?

I never thought I'd enjoy going up to a jail as much as I do the brewery. I mean, not only can you learn something but you don't have to worry about dropping the soap or check over your shoulder for Big Bubba, though I'll admit I'd hate to see Matt throw his weight around after a few stouts. My father-in-law Bill and I drove up to the Jailhouse today, and it's gotten to the point that I learn something new every time I go. After I got home about 12 noon, I went ahead and ate and went downstairs to get Will and Keith as they were just waking up. We all went upstairs and had some coffee with my father-in-law before going outside to grill a little more.

By the time we ate… Continue

Beer, beer, sake, and more beer. My 21st birthday, day 1.

It's been a couple of weeks since my 21st birthday rolled around, and I have to say Jailhouse was an integral part of making that entire weekend the absolute best 21st birthday anyone could have asked for. I started the weekend off by having my friend Will from St. Simons drive up for the birthday and he graciously brought along a couple of huge bottles of stout, one from Terrapin Brewery in Athens and another from a craft brewer in Asheville. He had arrived Friday morning and so he, my father-i… Continue
